ABOUT THE COUPLE
HOW WE MET
It's funny because the story of 'US' almost didn't happen! The night Ingrid and I met(at my brother Pat's birthday party), ALL we said to each other was a simple 'hi'. I thought she was incredibly beautiful, very nice, but I also thought she was taken because of something she said when she first arrived at the house. When Cupid (Mariely - my sister-in-law and Ingrid's co-worker) clued me in that Ingrid was single, I politely asked her....ok, I BEGGED her to invite Ingrid to a barbecue at my parents the next weekend. And guess what??? SHE CAME!!!!:) After a somewhat slow start(it took us 2 months before our first kiss!), our relationship literally took off, and our lives were changed forever!! OUR ENGAGEMENT
Our engagement occured on February 12, 2005 almost exactly 7 months after the day that we met. I thought that we were going to have a nice dinner with Patrick and Mariely at the Tavern in Celebration. Little did I know that PJ had orchestrated our entire families to meet us at the restaurant after the proposal. Everyone knew about the engagement except for me. I thought that it was kind of strange that P.J. and I were walking AWAY from the restaurant. I also thought that it was strange that he didn't let me hold his camera case. P.J. was trying to find someone to take our picture. He finally convinced a police officer to take our picture in a romantic spot by the lake. The officer took a picture using my camera first and then when P.J. opened his camera case, instead of him pulling out his camera- he pulled out the diamond ring. All of a sudden he got down on one knee and began taking off my ring and placing the engagement ring on my finger, while asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I've never felt so many emotions all at once. I was excited, amazed, and happy all at the same time.
